In an interview on United Television (UTV), the rapper emphasized the potential benefits of channeling energy into the fight against corruption, envisioning a self-sufficient Ghana poised for development.

Expressing his perspective, Okyeame Kwame stated, “If I were in charge, I would rather focus on corruption, I would rather focus on educational reforms.”

He underscored the importance of embracing educational initiatives such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) which, according to him, has played a significant role in societal progress. Okyeame Kwame also highlighted the need to value the arts, asserting that neglecting creativity has hindered Ghana’s innovative potential.

In questioning the urgency of the Anti-LGBT+ Bill in comparison to corruption, Okyeame Kwame provocatively asked, “Between corruption and LGBT+, which one is very pressing?” He expressed his detachment from the issue, humorously referring to it as “not [his] problem,” and highlighting the potential legal repercussions of publicly associating with it.

The Anti-LGBT+ Bill, passed on February 28, 2024, is currently awaiting presidential assent. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has indicated that he will wait for a citizen case at the Supreme Court to be finalized before deciding on the bill.
